According to an article published in Lima's main newspaper, El Comercio, the ubiquitous ceviche is the most popular dish of Lima residents.
The survey was carried out by the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
According to the article, 64% of Lima residents prefer ceviche and consider it the most typical dish of the city.
Other favorite dishes, which all lagged far behind ceviche's popularity, include traditional sweets (7%); chicken and rice, arroz con pollo (6%); stuffed potato terrine, causa rellena (5%), the creamy spicy chicken dish, ají de gallina (4%); grilled brochettes, anticuchos (2%); the well-known stir-fry dish, lomo saltado (2%); Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken, pollo a la brasa (1%); and the tripe and potato stew, cau cau(1%).
Ceviche is popular both among residents born in Lima (71%), as well as those born in other parts of Peru but who live in the city (57%). The survey was conducted among all social classes in the Greater Lima area.

No dudo que lo sea, aunque yo no esté en ese porcentaje. Sigo prefiriendo mi Lomo Saltado, y luego Arroz con Pollo. Será xq m he acostumbrado a comer el cebiche como entrada?

Ceviche aunque sea de postre, se me hace agua la boca de solo pensar. Me voy a comprar red snapper para hacer un buen cevichito este fin de semana, celebrando cinco de mayo y las marchas de los inmigrantes.
